Worship Guide for April 5, 2020
This Sunday begins Holy week with the remembrance of Christ's entrance into Jerusalem as the Savior of Israel the promised Son of David. As we are unable to all be together for worship as we may normally, you may find it useful to follow some of our customs at home with your family. As Holy Week is a special celebration we begin the service of Sunday with the Invocation and The Gospel reading for the entrance into Jerusalem which is found in John 12:12-19 or Matthew 21:1-11 followed by singing All Glory "Laud and Honor" (442 in Lutheran Service Book). After the procession the readings for the Sunday of the Passion are read Isaiah 50:4-9, Philippians 2:5-11, and Matthew 26:1-27:66. The Creed is omitted during Holy week. The Hymn of the Day is 438 A Lamb goes uncomplaining forth. You may conclude with Lord's prayer and a collect from the top of LSB 201 or the concluding prayers from Daily Prayer for Individuals and Families on page 295.
